My focus

Personal Training is called Personal Training because it is Personal to you and to no one else. My focus is on you and on you only, I watch what you do, I study what you do and I insist on the correct posture & technique, something I see failing around me. For this commitment and focus from my end – I expect a return from your end. I expect you to focus on yourself, look after yourself and to perform to the best of your ability … and why wouldn’t I?

I focus on results and the best way to get them; I work out the best programme possible and the best nutritional guidelines suitable for you and for you only.

By employing me, you are employing my professional services and I take the utmost care to make sure you achieve the results you desire.

It takes focus from both ends. If you are conscious of what you put in your mouth from the moment you wake, until the moment you sleep then you are on the right road to achieving the results you desire. It’s only when you’re consciously eating ice creams and pies that we have to start worrying!!

You focus on your lifestyle and I will focus on your training and together we will carve out the body and mind you’ve been waiting for.

Agility – Agility is the ability to start, stop and change direction within short distances using a combination of Speed, Power, and Co-ordination

Flexibility – the ability to perform joint actions through a wide range of motion. Restricted flexibility is one of the most common causes of poor technique and performance.

Balance – The maintenance of your centre of gravity over your base of support without moving for a given period of time.

Power – Power is the ability to apply force quickly power is a combination of Strength and Speed at the same time.

Each individual has various Biomotor needs. Somebody working within construction will need a high level of strength and power and most certainly need a high level of endurance, whereas someone who works mainly in an office may need to improve their strength, co-ordination and flexibility. Ballerinas have less need for speed and power like a shot-putter has less need for agility and endurance. This is not to say they are not important, just lower down the scale of priority.

Testimonials

Joe Hutton, Theatrical Agent

I have been training with David for the last 12 months and have noticed a significant increase in my energy levels and in my determination to achieve a greater level of fitness. I have found him to be extremely positive and knowledgeable which in turn makes me want to work harder as he makes me feel that it is possible to achieve my goals.

Through correction of my nutrition I am able to put more effort and concentration into my work.

I cannot recommend him high enough.

Bill Petrie, Actor

After our initial consultation, I switched exercise trainers and started training with David in March 2007. He introduced me to Core Strength Training and Back Strengthening which was a first for me. The biggest difference has been in my posture and the fact that I no longer suffer any back pain where there used to be the repetitive strain either at the base of my spine or in the middle of my back. This pain has completely disappeared.

I have also lost weight and toned up and certainly feel a lot stronger.

My focus and attention have most certainly improved, along with my confidence and self esteem.

Sam Harrison, Owner of Sam’s Brasserie & Bar in Chiswick and Harrison’s Brasserie & Bar in Balham

I have been training with David twice a week since February 2007. I run my own restaurant business which normally involves working 6/7 days a week and leaves very little time for me to worry about my health and fitness. By working with David I am able to try and keep myself in shape and fit. David has been able to help with back problems that I have been suffering from due to being on my feet all the time. He has done fantastic work on my core muscles and helping me to strengthen my back. Although I often work 70 to 80 hours a week, I find that my time with David helps with my energy levels and keeping my going. David has also advised me on my nutrition and vitamin intake which greatly helps me. I have no hesitation in recommending David to any potential clients.

Vaughan Bouzaid, Executive Mortgage Broker

After regularly training in my local gym for the last 18months, I had a consultation with David only to find that my whole program was ill advised for my goals and my exercise technique was poor. Regular sessions have since corrected my posture, increased my strength and stamina.

After having my blood tested – I found that I was intolerant to eggs which was my staple breakfast. After changing my diet – I became less bloated and more comfortable sitting at my desk which I spend 95% of my working day.

I can spend more hours with more clients who in turn reap the benefits of my extended concentration levels.

Carole Rose, GP Practice Manager

I started training with Dave about two years ago. Dave is an all round trainer and has helped me with exercise, nutrition and lifestyle. Dave pushes me to do exercises that I would give up on if he was not there. He makes exercising fun and I really look forward to our sessions. Through Dave I have changed the way I eat my meals, and have also cut down my alcohol intake. By doing this and exercisising regularly I now feel fitter and less tired and I have lost the fat which accumulated round my waist. I have a job in which I sit down most of the day so this did not help. I am now very happy with how I look and feel so much fitter.

Cherry, PR Consultant and Mother of 2

‘I have been training with Dave for two years. When I met him I was lacking confidence because I was overweight post-two beautiful babies and I just didn’t feel good about myself. I’d tried lots of diet plans and bought all the celebrity DVDs but the plain truth was that I was overweight and unfit. Gyms intimidated me because I thought that I looked hideous compared with all the ‘beautiful people’ who frequented them. Dave didn’t lecture me or make me feel guilty for being the size that I was. Instead he inspired me to want to do something about it. It hasn’t been easy and I’ve had my ‘ups and downs’ but I’m committed to my new way of life. Dave motivates me to do it for me, not for anyone else and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him.’
